10km Annual Charity Run: Director - Laurie Thomas
Fund raising, especially in any economic recession, requires effort and co-operation so that all club members can offer their ideas and expertise. Rotary endeavours to inform, assure and satisfy donors by ensuring that contributions are used without charge to help those in need locally and abroad. Whilst members are not expected to donate for all sums raised, they are required to participate in club activities that do raise funds for charity
Sevenoaks Rotary 10km Knole Park Run
The first 10Km Marathon Run in Knole Park was organised by the Rotary Club of Sevenoaks in March 2007. Its success in drawing athletes and social runners from all over Britain has allowed it to be an annual event. In March 2011, over 600 runners ran the ten kilometres and the event raised more than £ 6,000 for charity for the Kent Air Ambulance and Paula Carr Diabetes Trust. Main Sponsors were Knocker & Foskett, and Ibbett Moseley for the 5th successive year, as well as Davis Garage who provided field transport and manpower.
The full list of the runners can be found at the Sevenoaks Rotary 10Km charity run website which has a link below.

General Charity Collections
Charity collections outside retail stores form part of our fund raising efforts. We would like to thank both Tesco's and Sainsbury's for their support and for allowing us to collect outside their stores.
Gala Concert at the Stag
The Rotary Club of Sevenoaks, helped by Richard Stilgoe and Peter Skellern, raised £10,000 for charity. Our Club has donated regularly to the Eradication of Polio Fund initiated by Rotary International and supported by a US$250m donation from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Subsequent concerts organised by us at the Stag raised £ 7,000 for Age Concern and Hospice in the Weald.

Annual Charity Dinner 2009
Tom Hart-Dyke, the heir to Lullingstone Castle in Kent, was our quest speaker at our annual dinner in 2009. Tom, kidnapped in Columbia and held hostage for nine months, came close to losing his life at the hands of his captors. The famous 'world garden' at Lullingstone is the result of Tom's wish to offer something for all to enjoy - a wish he dreamed of when in captivity. Tom's speech, packed with suspense and surprising revelations, was enjoyed and appreciated by all those who attended. We raised £ 1,300 for charity at this event.
